Heather Nelson owns a real estate title insurance company and a yoga studio in Jacksonville. Two businesses, same founder, same city.
01 / The Story
In 2006, Heather Nelson filed the paperwork for a new company in Jacksonville. Guardian Title & Trust would handle real estate closings—the signings where a home sale becomes final and the keys change hands. She had been practicing yoga for more than a decade by then; her first teaching certification was still four years off. First came the title company.
Heather is a Jacksonville native. She started practicing yoga in 1995 and earned her first Yoga Alliance teaching certification in 2010. Today she holds an E-RYT 500 designation and owns Red Skies Yoga, where she teaches and leads the studio’s 200-hour teacher training.
She also still runs Guardian, the company she founded twenty years ago. Two businesses, two industries—one rooted in real estate, the other in the practice room—both built in the same city.
Outside of work, she spends time outdoors with her husband, family and friends, and supports animal welfare, veterans’ initiatives and local community efforts.
02 / The Title Company
A title company sits at the center of every real estate transaction. When someone buys or sells a home, the title company researches the property’s ownership history, confirms there are no unresolved claims against it, prepares the transfer documents and coordinates the closing—the appointment where everything is signed and the sale becomes official. The work is detail-heavy and consequential: a missed lien or a recording error can delay a sale or cloud an ownership claim for years.
Heather founded Guardian Title & Trust in 2006. The company is a real estate title insurance firm serving the Jacksonville and Fernandina Beach communities, with offices in both cities. She runs it as the company’s owner and escrow agent.
Through Guardian, Heather and her team have supported veterans, first responders, teachers and healthcare workers in their community.

03 / The Teaching
Heather’s classes center on breath awareness, mindful movement and creative sequencing—building strength, flexibility, stability and self-awareness. Her teaching and her teacher training offer different ways into that work.
What changes when you pay attention?
Breath awareness and mindful movement are at the center of every class Heather teaches. Her classes are built as a full-body experience, with thoughtful layers that encourage students to work honestly within their own bodies.
How does a class come together?
Heather’s classes use creative, intelligent sequencing. In the Red Skies teacher training, students study anatomy and alignment, explore poses in practical labs, and work with sequencing and cueing alongside the teaching team.
How do you make the practice your own?
Heather leads Red Skies Yoga’s 200-hour teacher training, helping developing teachers find their own voice. The program includes discussion, observation and practice teaching, with partner and small-group work as part of the learning.
